Staff Care Team Job Description

The Staff Care Team will consist of one person or a married couple, generally older than college-age. Ideally, one or both of the members will have training and/or experience in Christian counseling or in a mentoring role. We believe that relationships are the core element of God’s Gospel Plan of Salvation; God desires to bring us back to a right relationship with Him. Also, the marriage relationship was instituted as a reflection God’s relationship with creation (Genesis 2:23) and Jesus’ relationship with the church (Ephesians 5:31-32). Consequently, in general, we will look for a married couple for this role. Their primary responsibility will be to monitor, assess, and assist the rest of the staff regarding their health in all life areas (physically, emotionally, relationally, spiritually, etc …)

The Staff Care Team will be responsible to:

  • Be familiar with, mindful of, and working to further and implement the Glad Tidings Mission Statement, Values & Policies, and goals.
  • Pray for the camp ministry and everyone involved in it.
  • Lead Volunteer Staff in prayer and Devotions.
  • Observe and build relationships with the Volunteer Staff.
  • Monitor the health of the staff in all life areas (physically, emotionally, relationally, spiritually, etc …)
  • Make yourself accessible to Volunteer Staff who might have issues to talk through and/or need advice about.
  • Work closely with the Program Director and the Camp Director to assess the health of the Volunteer Staff.
  • Be spiritually minded and prepared through a daily prayer time and Bible time (even now in preparation for the summer).
