Kitchen Team Job Description |
The Kitchen Team will involve 2-3 people each week including a Kitchen Team Head/Head Cook. This is a vital role to the functioning of the camp – it couldn’t happen without the Cooks.
The following responsibilities are the general functions of those on the Kitchen Team and to be their primary focus for the week.
The Kitchen Team Head/Head Cook will have demonstrated competence and/or experience either as a Glad Tidings Kitchen Team member or in the past or in a similar role elsewhere. Ideally, they would have direct experience and/or certification in Food Service and/or Food Service Management. If they do not have certification, Glad Tidings will pay for them to become a certified food handler. They will take a leadership role and ensure that these core activities are being completed. This may involve making decisions, directing campers and (potentially) other staff, communicating with the rest of the Kitchen Team and with others in leadership roles including the Program Director and the Camp Director, and maintaining the resources needed to perform the functions of the Kitchen Team for that week of camp. The Kitchen Team Head is responsible to the Camp Director. |
